The fabric has a thin membrane that is water resistant and winproof that also stretches with the fabric. Adding a higher comfort quality.
As with all fabrics that use a membrane, the quality of protection does not break down with washing. Infact washing removes oils and dirt from the pores in the membrane which keep the garment breathable.
The Ultra is designed to be worn next to the skin or over a pair of shorts and has a long ankle zip added for ease of putting on. A strong elasticated waist band with a drawcord is also added for comfort to keep out the elements.
